Car Wash vs. Detailing:
What’s The Difference?

A standard car wash typically focuses on cleaning the exterior of your vehicle. This includes washing light dirt and bugs from the car’s body, wheels, and windows with an option to include waxing.
A professional car detail offers a thorough exterior and interior cleaning, including hand waxing, engine cleaning, upholstery shampooing, and deep cleaning of the dashboard, seats, and carpets. With a detail, you’ll see a lot more attention to detail—like polishing the paint to remove contaminants and options to include protective coatings to preserve the car’s condition.
While a car wash is great for regular maintenance or removing salt regularly during the winter, a car detail is much more thorough and can better protect your vehicle long-term.
To keep your car’s showroom shine, you’ll want to schedule a full detailing once or twice a year.

What Are The Benefits Of Detailing My Car?

When you get your car detailed you are left with a showroom look, but there are a few other benefits that people don’t think of. Detailing can also help prevent rust—specifically, the accumulation of dirt and salt within areas such as door seals and the undercarriage. To help stop the corrosion and ensure the longevity of your vehicle, consistent detailing is recommended.
Additional Benefits of Detailing Your Car
- Increased Vehicle Longevity
- Increased Resale Value
- Prevents Wear and Tear
- Protects Upholstery
- Protects Paint
- Odor Elimination
How Often Should I Get My Car Detailed?
How often a car needs detailing isn’t set in stone. The weather and location all play a part in how often you should get your car detailed. In rough climates, you might need a detail every few months. If the weather’s nice, twice a year will do. If you want your vehicle always looking sharp, or if you’re a ride-share driver or parent regularly transporting passengers, you might need a detail every few months. Finding the right balance of when to schedule your detail will vary depending on your personal preferences!
What Is Automotive Paint Correction?

Paint correction is all about bringing a car’s paint back to life. First, we start with everything that we do for exterior detailing. Then we do a 2 step machine polish that gets rid of 80% of the scratches and swirls giving you a glossy finish. Lastly, we apply a 6-month polymer sealant wax for protection. All of this will give you a near-perfect glossy finish.
How Long Does It Take To Detail A Car?
The base detailing is about 1 hour and 30 minutes for an interior or exterior detailing (or 3 hours if you’re doing both the exterior and interior), but this all depends on how dirty your car is when we start. It also depends on what add-ons you add to your detailing. We know this time can add up fast, so we also offer mobile vehicle detailing to reduce inconvenience and meet you where you’re at.
